TBARG Meeting January 23, Wednesday at 7:00 PM

How do you send an email when the Internet is down? –  Winlink.

In the event of a region wide communications breakdown (think Katrina or earthquake event), how would you send important information?  TBARG and Munson Emergency Communications is developing the Winlink ham radio system.  Using a computer connected to a ham radio, digital messages are sent to other ham radio stations (sometimes hundreds of miles away) that have Internet access.

Join us for a demonstration of this technology that has been installed at Glen’s office on 5123 N Royal Drive, Traverse City on January 23 at 7:00.

We will also be practicing sending digital messages using the Android tablet system.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A AMAZON FIRE TABLET, A FREE 7 INCH AMAZON FIRE TABLET WILL BE RAFFLED OFF AT THE MEETING!
